CROSFIELDS/Rylands will entertain current Cheshire Soccer League First Division champions Styal at Gorsey Lane on Saturday at 3pm.
Their previous home performance - a win against early-season leaders Club AZ at the weekend - was their best of the season so far, putting them in fourth place.
Crosfields/Rylands always seemed to be in control against Club AZ but it was not until the opening moments of the second half that the breakthrough came, with Stuart ‘Whippet’ Wellstead scoring with a fine individual strike.
Within five minutes he added his second from the penalty spot.
With the Crosfields/Rylands defence in fine form Club AZ never troubled Warburton in the home team’s goal.
Greenalls Padgate St Oswalds took over leadership of the division after a 2-0 win at home to Trafford Reserves.
Warrington Town Reserves continued their impressive start to the Second Division season with home victories in the space of four days.
Following on from Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat of Golborne, they recorded a narrow 1-0 win against a well organised and determined Crewe side on Saturday thanks to a well-taken goal from Latvian striker Tom Butorins.
He was put through by Danny Toone and turned sharply to drive a low shot into the corner of the Crewe net in the 13th minute.
Town skipper Richie Sinker deflected a drive on to his own post in the second half.
Town Reserves: Shaw, Parr, Toone, Snowden, Sinker, Tebb, Potter, Berry, Butorins (Dermody), Prescott (Bentley), Pithers (Ajevi). Subs not used: Floyd, Sargeant.
* Division Two also threw up some high scoring games at the weekend, with joint leaders Moore United winning 5-1 at Malpas.
