GREAT Sankey High School brothers Rhys and Ben Evans will line up against the country they left last year when they feature for the England Schools under 15s rugby league team against Wales tomorrow, Friday.

The talented Burtonwood Bulldogs duo moved from south Wales to Warrington during 2007 to link up with Warrington Wolves' youth scheme and recently starred in the Great Sankey year 10 team that won the North West Counties Cup.

But centre Rhys and loose forward Ben have been selected by England, who are coached by former Wolves star Alan Hunte, and will face Wales in a curtain-raiser to the Co-operative National League One fixture between Celtic Crusaders and Dewsbury Rams at Brewery Field in Bridgend tomorrow.

Rylands Sharks' James Mendeika and Richard Lepori are in the under 16s squad for the annual two-match series with France Cadets.

Mendeika, who attends St Gregorys, and Lepori, a former Chorley Panthers player, will hope to be selected in former Wolves forward Dave Elliott's England side for the first game at St Paul de Fennoillet on Sunday, with the second game taking place in Tonneins on March 27.

The England team will be skippered by Liam Hulme - the son of former Wolves skipper Paul - who is on Warrington Wolves' books.

* Great Sankey's year 10 team will host north east school St Johns in the quarter finals of the national Carnegie Champion Schools tournament next month after clinching a 44-6 victory against Hull's Andrew Marvell School in the last 16.

Great Sankey's year 11 team's Champion Schools national final against Featherstone's St Wilfrids High School was postponed last week because of bad weather at Headingley.

Cardinal Newman High School's year 11 girls' team's final against All Saints Catholic College was also postponed.
