Goole 2 Warrington Town 1.
PLAY-OFF chasing Goole withstood late pressure from Warrington Town to bag all three points in Saturday's UniBond First Division South clash.
Despite a final push that included Tom Spearitt's headed goal with five minutes remaining, Town could not find an equaliser.
Town, who handed a debut to new signing Gavin Lynch from Prescot Cables, fell behind to two goals in three minutes midway through the first half.
The introduction of substitute Conner Taylor at half time gave the Yellows added impetus with striker Thomas Lamb and midfielder Franny Smith going close.
And Taylor had an excellent chance to score, miss-hitting a through ball from Smith when clear on goal.
Town: Shane McWeeney, Steve Everett, Chris Fitzsimmons, Tom Spearitt, Tony Dunne (Ben Heath 66mins), Anthony Daniels (Michael Owens 66mins), Karl Brown, Franny Smith, Thomas Lamb, Gavin Lynch, Scott Williams (Connor Taylor 46mins).
* Town are home to third bottom Shepshed Dynamo on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
