UPDATED WITH ADEN VIDEO: Warrington Sports Personality of 2007 award winners


PHIL Archer has been crowned Warrington Sports Personality of 2007.

The European Tour golfer, currently contesting the Dubai Desert Classic in the Middle East, beat eight other outstanding achievers to the title at the 15th annual awards ceremony at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Flying winger Kevin Penny was voted the Warrington Sports Personality Wolves Player of 2007 by readers of Warrington Guardian and this website.

The night was rounded off with a surprise for swimmer Aden Walker, who received the Warrington Sports Personality of 2007 Special Award for his mighty sporting and community efforts.

He received a standing ovation and you can watch all the emotion and drama unfold on video here as Aden realises he is the winner.

There was double delight for Warrington Athletics Club with Phil Hicken receiving the inaugural coach of the year honour, while the club's under 17s boys team collected the team of the year prize.

Netball's Chris Brien received the unsung hero award with Latchford Albion rugby league club's youth section claiming the club of the year title.
