NEIGHBOURS star Toadfish believes Melbourne Storm will miss new Wolves signing Matt King.

Actor Ryan Maloney, who has played the character of Jarrod 'Toadfish' Rebecchi for several years in the Melbourne-based soap, is a Sydney Roosters fan but was an admirer of the Storm during their NRL-winning season.

In an interview to preview the World Club Challenge against Leeds in February, he has revealed that his favourite Storm player was King before his departure to Warrington.

Maloney, who is currently playing Buttons in the pantomime production of Cinderella in Sheffield, said: "Last year Matt King was my favourite player for the Storm however he's now moved on, which could be costly for the Storm.

"This season I'd probably say Cooper Cronk is the one to watch and I expect him to put in a big performance against the Rhinos.

"Back home I try and watch as much rugby league as possible. I'm a bit disappointed that I won't be in the UK by the time this fixture comes around although I'll be sure to tune into the game on TV."

Could someone please translate this into something resembling English.
My concern is that these threads rapidly deteriorate into ever increasing, unfounded, uninformed criticism of the coach and players before the first game has been played.
Voice your thoughts by all means but base them on fact, not speculation.
If you are a true supporter you should be getting behind the lads and boosting confidence not writing morale breaking, verbal diarrhea

Dave, Just listen to Cullen post match or any of the players - read Mr. Bridge and Mr.Westwood's recent comments on this forum. It's just hot air with constant recycling of cliche after cliche. Maybe if PC started giving his post match drivel in Latin, Greek or even Welsh, it would make more sense than the usual stuff.

I suppose I am fortunate, living where I do, that I don't have to suffer post match comments. I don't think PC has considered talking in Azeri.
I do take on board your comments but player rhetoric is just that, rhetoric and has to be upbeat or else it sends out all the wrong messages. I admit that sometimes their waffle is frustrating but they are professional Rugby League players and not politicians and should do their talking with deeds of daring do on the park and not in press interviews.
My original point is that we as supporters should get behind them and not continually snipe at them because their command of our mother tongue is less than adequate.
