Monaghan -hooker as he has played hooker all year for Manly and has been outstanding plus we get Bridge on the pitch at stand off (3 half backs at once on the pitch which can only be a good thing!)

Great mind think alike!!!

Bridgey should not have to change position just to accommodate other older players. he works well in the half backs as he is a player that is able to change a game around in a flash!!!! BRIDGEY TO KEEP HIS NORMAL POSITION ALONGSIDE BRIERSY!!!!

For me Bridge at 6 and Monaghan at 7.
Why? Well a fit Bridge shows excellent strength and pace with 100% commitment. Lets take some of the expectation off Briers and get him back to his best before age finally takes over him. The only issue here is a goal kicker but with Briers record at the end of the season we can't be any worse off.

you are joking i hope briers and monaghan are in a different class to bridge ,if he can convert to hooker he will stand a chance of staying at warrington but if he cannot convert and stay injury free he will not stay at the club and imo if he has another season like last year i wouldn't want him there .

This is the best “problem” of all to have when selecting. In reality you rarely have to make the big decision about who goes where as injuries occur. The thorny issue of “Squad Numbers” must be a right pain for the Head Coach though. I think Chris Bridge is a great runner … if he stays fit … he will be included but he did not look anything like right last year so let’s hope. I think Big Jim is just being mischievous.
Briers is very much still a class act and with a minute to go to win a game I’d like the ball in his hands … enough said.

Totally agree Jim. Our defence would be much stronger with Bridge and monas on the pitch. Both great line breakers, both strong and both kick well out of hand also. Give Briers a well earned rest and use him off the bench to turn a game when needed. That way we may get the benefit of an injury free, consistent briers at his best for a year or two extra. Having said all that I'd play the two fittest each week and injuries will probably have a big say in it anyway.

All our views aside I think Bridge will be used off the bench but I would be surprised if every comment and combination above is not true at some point during the season. I think he may fill the utility role that Clarkey has filled this year and play in a number of positions. He is capable of playing well at 6,7,9 and 13 for me, or at centre if required.
Briers is a 6 or 7 nothing else so I see him at one or the other and it,s been well documented that Monas is coming to play 7, so that leave bridge as the utility. One thing's for sure Monas is quality as anyone who's watched manly this year will know.

Alot of good positive comment's and as pete says from Cambridge;what a nice position for the wire to be in having class in depth to call on .
I agree Chris bridge should come of the bench;Monaghan is atop quality player and i am sure that this will bring even more out of the squad to compete for their places.

well i think chris bridge has had enough of this he knows how good he is and as soon as another club offers him a contract for 1st place he will be out of her. He will defo be gone for the end of 2008! He is the BEST half back we have got he's strong, excellent in defence, fantastic foot work, and a goal kiker far better than lee briers. Hes also the youngest. Paul should of never had got Monaghan we have bridge and briers and grix as sub what a waste of money!!!!
