WARRINGTON'S secondary schools rugby league finals that were held over from last term have been played at Wilderspool Stadium, with William Beamont and Great Sankey winning two finals each.

BOTELER gave as good as they received for most of an absorbing year 10 final with national finalists Great Sankey.

Dean Griffiths, Christian White and Chris Meacock scored tries for Boteler, with John Hewitt converting.

But Great Sankey were just too strong and they scored tries courtesy of Conor Wright, three, Jake Crank, two, Josh Crowley and Mike Fairhurst, while Gareth O'Brien kicked six goals.

Cardinal Newman 10 Great Sankey 54.

GREAT Sankey overwhelmed Cardinal Newman with some scintillating rugby in the year nine final.

Matthew Dowman and Marcus Baines scored hat-tricks, while Mike Hesketh, Rhys Evans, Ben Evans, George Unsworth and Matthew Whitehead-Wilson also touched down and Steven Berry kicked seven conversions.

Adam Wood and Vinny Kakopa crossed for Newman, with Johnny Watson adding a goal.

William Beamont 48 Penketh 0.

WILLIAM Beamont dominated from start to finish in the year eight final.

Tries were scored by Ben Moores, two, Joe Kelly, two, Ben Kenwright, Eric Wharton, Mike Horne, Adam Stuton and Adam Keenan.

Goals were kicked by Sam Spencer, four, and Craig Lawton, two.

Cardinal Newman 6 William Beamont 30.

CARDINAL Newman competed evenly for most of the year seven final before a flurry of tries from William Beamont ensured they ran out winners.

Lewis Appleton touched down for Newman, with Declan Patten converting, while Matthew Wood, Alex Griffiths, Ben Walker, Jake Slydell, Jack Lewis and Lewis Charnock were the Beamont try scorers and Lewis Charnock kicked three goals.
