Wakefield Trinity u19 22 Warrington Wolves u19 28

CHRIS Rudd says the character his Warrington Wolves under 19s players are showing makes him confident they can finish the season strongly.

Stand-off Riley Dean starred for The Wire during their win at Wakefield Trinity on Saturday afternoon – scoring a hat-trick of tries and kicking four goals from five attempts.

Padraig Anglin-Sheedy and Lewis Hall were also on the scoresheet at the Mobile Rocket Stadium as they beat Wakefield for the second time in the space of a month.

With two games of the campaign remaining, head coach Rudd is positive about a strong finish.

“I was delighted with all the lads. They really dug deep for the whole game and got the rewards that their efforts deserved,” he said.

“They just knuckled down and pitched in for each other to claim an impressive win.

“We were down on numbers and lost three lads during the game, but they never let that bother them.

“We showed a lot of character both in attack and defence and hopefully we can take that into our remaining two games and finish the season in a positive manner.”

The first of those games sees them travel to neighbours Widnes Vikings on Saturday, kick off 2pm.
