BEN Westwood will not play for Warrington Wolves against Hull FC tomorrow, head coach Steve Price has confirmed.

The short turnaround following Saturday’s Challenge Cup Final defeat to Catalans has proved too much for the 36-year-old to recover from, with Bodene Thompson set to take his place at loose forward.

Price looks set to stick with largely the same side that played at Wembley Stadium but says Thompson will bring them something different.

He also confirmed Sitaleki Akauola – available again after serving a one-match suspension – misses out with a slight sternum injury that will be monitored.

“Bennie Westwood won’t play tomorrow. Bodene Thompson comes in for him,” he said.

“He has been really positive for us in the two games he’s played.

“We have a bit of a different make-up when he plays.

“Sita still has a niggle going on at the moment, so he doesn’t come into consideration.

“He just has a bit of a sternum injury which we’ll hopefully know more about next week.”

Ben Murdoch-Masila was left out of Price’s 19-man squad for the game against the Black and Whites because of a knee injury.

However, the Wire boss says the Tongan international could still feature against Lee Radford’s side and will be assessed tomorrow.

“We’ll see how he pulls up in the morning. He may still come into the 17,” he said.

“It’s a day-to-day proposition for him. He’s doing everything he can to play, but he’s got a few niggles.

“Hopefully he will overcome them in this short amount of time. There’s a possibility of him playing.”
