Warrington Town Reserves 1 FC United Reserves 2.

TOWN Reserves were unlucky to lose to FC United's second string in the Cheshire Soccer League Second Division at Cantilever Park on Saturday.

FC United, who are a breakaway club formed by Manchester United fans unhappy with Malcolm Glazer's regime at Old Trafford, went ahead when Carl Carey raced clear to beat goalkeeper Karl Wills in the opening 30 seconds of the match.

But Martin Bell capitalised on a mix-up in the visitors' defence to equalise on the half hour and Dave Berry then hit the crossbar after half time.

Jamie Rother gave FC United a fortuitous lead when he scored with 10 minutes remaining before Richie Sinker's injury-time header struck the post to consign Town to defeat.

Town: Wills, Parr, Hall, Davies, Sinker, Brown, Pithers, Berry, Jones, Bell (Preston), Toone. Subs not used: Taylor, Brownbill, Atkinson, Sargeant.
