"I just thought we started the game too slow," Clark said.

"We built into it at the back end of the first half, but errors killed us.

"We were giving too many penalties away and that hurt us in the end."

The hooker also thought they could have handled the later stages of the game, when they had seven-tackle sets on more than one occasion, slightly better but says tiredness played a big part.

"We were out on our feet at the end. It was a tough game and everyone was blowing," he said.

"We probably just should have gone a bit more direct to chew the metres up and set us up better for the drop goal.

"It’s been and gone now, though. We’ll have to take the point and move on."
