THE under 18s boys’ quad sculls from Warrington Rowing Club sadly fell short in their quest for glory at Henley Royal Regatta.
The crew of Alastair Eaves, Connor Guerin and Matt Baguley, all 18, and 17-year-old Angus Stewart were beaten by a strong Leander Rowing Club boat in the Fawley Challenge Cup on Friday.
Warrington were only narrowly beaten by one-and-a-half lengths by a crew that went on to reach the semi-finals before being knocked out by eventual runners-up Maidenhead.
Their defeat came just a day they easily beat Globe Rowing Club in the heats at the prestigious meet.
