LYMM golfer Tom Murray just missed out on a victory in his latest European Challenge Tour event.
Murray led the Hautes de France Open after the first two rounds but eventually ended up in a tie for fifth place.
A fine opening round of 65 saw the former Lymm High School student top the leaderboard, a position he maintained at the halfway point of the competition after carding a solid 69.
However, windy conditions on day three proved tough as Murray shot 73 to slip one shot off the lead.
The 28-year-old made a solid start to the final round, but bogeys on each of the final four holes cost him the chance of a second Challenge Tour title.
Murray, whose efforts earned him just over 7,000 Euros in prize money, finished two shots behind Grant Forrest and Stuart Manley, with the latter winning a play-off to take the title.
