LATCHFORD Albion duo Danny Brown and Phil Woollacott helped the North West Men’s League Lionhearts to victory over county rivals Yorkshire.
Brown started at loose forward and Woollacott was named at hooker for the game at Siddal and helped their side to a 26-12 victory.
Both players are in the England Lionhearts squad for their upcoming tour of Italy.
Meanwhile, the pair’s Albion teammate Carwyn Chamberlain is in the North Wales ‘Origin’ squad for the remainder of the season.
The full-back looks set for a role in their clash with South Wales.
Littleborough 42 Latchford Albion A 12
ALBION’S A side tired in the final quarter to allow league leaders Littleborough to add gloss to the scoreline on Saturday.
The game was delicately poised at 18-12 on the hour mark, with Latchford competing well against their hosts.
Owen Nugent raced the length of the field in the first half before Chris Brown barged over after the break, with Rick Metcalfe adding the conversions on both occasions.
However, the leaders cantered to victory in the later stages.
