JOSH Charnley clocked up 1,000 points in his rugby league career as Warrington Wolves stormed past Bradford Bulls into the last 16 of the Challenge Cup.

The winger’s second try of the first half, his fifth in Wire colours since signing from Sale Sharks, took him to the milestone figure as well as ensuring a 30-0 lead at the break.

He added two further tries in the second half while Bryson Goodwin also notched a hat-trick.

Ben Currie touched down twice in the opening period before limping out of the game with a knock on the left knee that has given him trouble since late 2016.

When Chris Hill powered over from close range after 10 minutes the floodgates were opened.

Mitch Brown’s break and Dec Patton’s supporting charge led to Currie crossing from short range moments later.

The one-way traffic continued as Patton and Roberts shipped the ball left to Goodwin, who stepped inside off his left foot and had too much strength for the covering Bulls defenders.

With Ratchford adding his second conversion from three attempts, Wire led 16-0 after 15 minutes.

A Patton grubber kick forced six more tackles and the stand-off slipped a lovely pass for Currie to step over for his second try in the next set.

Goodwin and Brown combined again down the left before the ball was shipped to the opposite flank where Roberts and Atkins put Charnley over in the right corner with a flashy dive to make it 26-0 after 24 minutes.

Ratchford twice came close before the half ended with Charnley clocking up his 1,000th point in the game.

Livett, a replacement for the limping Currie, did the hard work with his burst down the middle and then on the next tackle Roberts swung the ball wide to Hughes for a three-on-two and the back-rower made the right call with a miss-out pass for Charnley to stroll over for 30-0.

Three minutes into the second half the scoreboard operator was called on again.

Akauola fed Atkins and with lightning speed the centre thrust the ball two-handed, in reverse, to give Charnley a walkover for his hat-trick, which Goodwin converted.

And it was same again four minutes later, more great handling from Atkins putting Charnley over for his fourth of the afternoon and Goodwin again adding the extras.

Goodwin crossed for his second score off a sweet pass from Patton in the 53rd minute, with the left footer converting his own try from wide out.

Livett charged down a kick and flipped the ball up for Goodwin to race home from 65 metres for his hat-trick score, which he improved, in the 61st minute.

Joe Keyes crossed for Bradford’s consolation effort, and converted himself, four minutes from the end.
