DOM Crosby and Mike Cooper will both miss The Wire’s Challenge Cup fifth-round tie against Bradford Bulls on Saturday, head coach Steve Price has confirmed.

Both props picked up injuries during the 40-26 victory over Hull KR on Saturday and will not be risked against the Bulls.

Crosby was substituted with an ankle injury, while Cooper’s minutes were limited by a hamstring problem Price says both players should be in contention to return against Huddersfield Giants on April 27.

“Dom had a bit of a twist in his ankle, but there’s no ligament damage,” he said.

“He’ll be a couple of weeks. I doubt he’ll be longer than that.

“He won’t be playing this week, but we’ll be looking at the Huddersfield game for him.

“Coops’ hamstring has pulled up okay, but we’ll stand him down this week.

“The plan for him is to get right for Huddersfield as well.”

The duo join Ben Murdoch-Masila (knee) and Toby King (hamstring) on the short-term injury list, but Price says the former is “getting very close” to returning.

The Tongan forward is likely to be involved in The Wire’s next Super League game.

“Benny Murdoch is getting very close. He’s ticking all the right boxes,” he said.

“I don’t think he’ll make this weekend, but he will be right to go next week.

“Toby King is a couple of weeks away with that hamstring. He’s more of a week-to-week proposition.”
