PTBC Floodlit pairs
JULIE Chapman and Dawn Hayes beat off some strong competition on Sunday to take home the May Deakin Plate.
After the early rounds last Wednesday, eight ladies pairs remained to contest the finals at Padgate Tennis and Bowling Club.
Chapman and Hayes came through two more rounds before eventually coming up against Doris Cargill and Paula Gamon in the final.
Their final opponents had come through an epic semi final to contest the showpiece match, but Chapman and Hayes swept to a comfortable 21-6 victory to take the trophy.
