PAUL Carden labelled Warrington Town’s 0-0 draw with Nantwich Town tonight as “frustrating” as their winless run continued.

Yellows were below par at Cantilever Park as their sequence without a victory stretched to five games and put their place in the Evo-Stik Premier Division’s top three in even more jeopardy.

Carden says there was no lack of effort from his squad but admits they did not do enough to take three points from their Cheshire rivals.

“It was frustrating, really,” he told the Guardian.

“At times we worked it well. At other times, we seemed over-anxious to make things happen.

“Make no bones about it, Nantwich are not a bad side. Pill (Luke Pilling) has made some tremendous saves.

“We threw everyone up in the end and left him one against two at times. He’s made a couple of good saves near the end.

“I don’t think we worked their keeper enough, especially when set pieces were bouncing in and around their box. That’s something we have to improve on.”

Carden ordered his players out of the dressing room after the final whistle and conducted his team talk on the Cantilever Park pitch.

However, he says that was done with a view to preparing for a trip to Whitby Town in just 48 hours in mind rather than anger.

“To be honest, straight after the final whistle we got our minds on preparing for Thursday,” he said.

“We didn’t want to go in and cool down only to stiffen up when we went back out again.

“We let them have a stretch on the pitch there and then.

“My words were that we can’t stop and that we have to be prepared.

“The games are coming thick and fast and we have to keep battling through it.

“It will turn for us because we’re a good side.”
