IF we're honest, 2017 is a year Wolves fans would rather forget.

However, despite poor team performances leading to a Middle 8s finish, there were some bright spots.

One of them is today's feature in our Top 10 countdown as we look back at a special day for the man they call 'Super Bennie'...

4: 400 UP FOR SUPER BENNIE:

IN what proved to be a dour year for Warrington Wolves, the afternoon of August 12 was a rare occasion for Wire fans to celebrate.

A little over 15 years after his debut, Ben Westwood strode out onto the Halliwell Jones Stadium pitch for his 400th appearance for Wolves.

Flanked by daughters Tyler and Grace, it was a proud moment for the veteran forward whose rapport with the fans is impregnable.

Fittingly, the Wolves players saved one of their best performances of the season for that day as they ran riot against Catalans Dragons.

While Westwood did not get on the scoresheet, he played his part in a dominant 52-24 victory that went a long way to securing The Wire’s Super League status for 2018.

Westwood will play on in 2018, with his next target being 500 career appearances.
