THREE Warrington women featured in the England Lionesses side comprehensively defeated by Australia in the Women’s Rugby League World Cup in Sydney today.

Vice-captain Jodie Cunningham was at full-back, as she was in the impressive opening win against Papua New Guinea on Thursday, while Emily Rudge’s impressive display off the bench earned a starting place in the second row.

Dani Bound was again the impact hooker off the bench, but Jenny Welsby missed out through the injury she suffered in the first half three days ago.

On this occasion the Lionesses did not deliver to their best and fell 38-0 against the hosts and tournament favourites, who have the advantage of being full-time professional athletes.

England’s last game of the group stages will be against the Cook Islands on Wednesday, again at the Southern Cross Group Stadium in Cronulla where all of the tournament’s fixtures are being staged until the final.
