HEAD coach Steve Price has a Cronulla Sharks link to Warrington Wolves' fifth signing for the 2018 season.

Mitch Brown joins the club from relegated Leigh Centurions on a one-year deal.

Known as a winger who can also play centre or full-back, Brown, 30, joined Super League midway through 2016 from Cronulla Sharks where he made his NRL debut in 2006.

He spent time at Wests Tigers and Canterbury Bulldogs between 2010 and 2014 before returning to the Sharks for 2015 when Price was assitant coach.

“The culture I want to create is about players who are team first and willing to work extremely hard," said Price.

"Having been involved with Mitch at Cronulla he certainly ticks those boxes.

"He’s an outstanding quality person and will add a lot to the club culture which we are building.

“He understands the systems which I am implementing here at the Wolves and he knows that there are positions up for grabs in the wing spots and no places are guaranteed as it will all come down to how each performs in pre-season and the friendlies.

“He’s known for finishing tries off and understands the game well. He’ll be a great acquisition for the Wolves.”

Brown made 132 NRL appearances, registering 39 tries.

He pulled on the Leigh shirt 26 times, crossing for eight tries.
