WARRINGTON Town look set to add new signing Elliot Rokka to their squad for Saturday’s trip to in-form Mickleover Sports.

Manager Paul Carden brings in the 21-year-old winger from Tranmere Rovers on loan until January.

“He’s someone I’ve been after for a while,” said Carden of the 2016-17 Evo-Stik League Young Player of the Season.

“He was at Radcliffe Borough, scored plenty of goals, and he went to Tranmere, who paid money for him.

“Elliot’s had an injury but he’s been fit for a few weeks and played a couple of games.

“They want him to go out and play and we need somebody of that type who’s going to cross the ball.

“He’ll be a good addition for us.”

The former Manchester United Academy man provides more depth and competition for places.

“We need that going into this period where we’ve got a lot of games coming up in December and over Christmas,” said Carden.

Yellows head to Derby in second place in the Evo-Stik Premier Division on the back of an FA Trophy replay success, after a penalty shoot-out, at Ashton United on Tuesday when Brad Barnes was welcomed back into the side after a rib injury, though Steve Jennings was absent.

“Steve did not play because he’s recently come back from a spell out and we didn’t want to overload him too much early on,” said Carden.

“But it was good for Brad to get back in. He played the whole game and did well to come through it.”
