IT was a ‘one-two’ for Warrington’s golf clubs at the Cheshire Mixed Foursomes Championships over the weekend.
In a close-fought tournament, the Lymm Golf Club pairing of Jill Davies and David Jones eventually won through to take the trophy.
With 34 clubs represented at the third running of the county final, three finished tied at the top on 38 Stableford points but the Lymm pair won a card play-off.
Warrington Golf Club’s Edwina Greenwood and Alan Horne were the unlucky pair to be edged out as they finished second at Vale Royal Abbey Golf Club in Northwich.
Reddish Vale’s Jeanette Kinder and Tony Barnes finished just outside the prizes in third place.
