Hindley 34 Latchford Albion 10
LATCHFORD Albion head Lee Smith admitted their final-day defeat to Hindley was not the way they wanted to finish their NWML Premier Division season.
Danny Brown scored two tries and kicked a goal for Albion and the game was in the balance at 16-10 with 20 minutes remaining.
However, a lack of substitutes and an injury left Latchford to complete the game with just 12 men and the hosts ruthlessly took advantage.
“It wasn't the big finish to the season we were all hoping for,” Smith said.
“Injuries have been a big factor and having players unavailable with work commitments has been a thorn in our side all year.
“I think that is as much an issue for rugby league and not just us.”
After winning promotion last season, Albion finished eighth to consolidate their place in the Premier Division for next year.
