TONY Smith says new signing Sitaleki Akauola will bring Wolves “exactly what they need.”
The Wire have confirmed a deal to bring the powerful Tongan international to The Halliwell Jones Stadium and Akauola has signed a two-year deal with the club.
Having picked up NRL experience with Wests Tigers and current club Penrith Panthers, the 25-year-old has garnered a reputation for his powerful, direct ball-carrying and Smith says he is the right player for what the squad needs.
“We are looking forward to Sitaleki joining us. He’s certainly got impact,” he said.
“He’s a big man who will bring plenty of attributes to us and into our forward pack.
“It’s a very good signing. He’s keen to play in Super League and I think he’s just the right player at this time when we need to strengthen in that area.
“He’ll bring us exactly what we need.”
