LATCHFORD Albion and Woolston Rovers meet tomorrow, Wednesday, with the winner claiming the Stuart Middleton Foundation Cup.

The game at Victoria Park is a straight final after Albion and Rovers were the only two teams to enter teams this year.

Despite home advantage, Latchford will be underdogs as they ply their trade in the division below their opponents.

However, head coach Lee Smith says the chance to make club history will motivate his players.

“Wednesday’s fixture is an important one for us as a group,” he said.

“We started the year in a tough spot and we have had to fight every week in this league to keep ourselves in the picture.

“It has been a year of putting it all together and finding our feet as a squad.

“As the season is winding down this test is a perfect opportunity for us to lay a marker down for pre-season and next season as a whole.

“I know what these lads can achieve and if we go out there and do what we are capable of, we will be celebrating another big win in the club’s history.”

Woolston go into the game in solid form, having won each of their past four National Conference League Division Three games.

However, Rovers boss John Fieldhouse is under no illusions as to how tough a task this will be for his side.

“There will be a lot of pride at stake for both sides and I am certain that it will be a very entertaining game for the spectators,” he said.

“When sides come up against each other in a game like this form generally goes out of the window and it is all about who performs best on the night.

“Latchford have had some really good results over the past couple of months in the NWML Premier Division so we know it is going to be a tough game.

“We will just got out to enjoy the occasion and hopefully we will be able to perform at a level that sees us get the right result.”

The following evening, Woolston Rovers A take on Culcheth Eagles in the Warrington Alliance Cup Final at the same venue.

Both games kick off at 7.30pm and a licensed bar and refreshments will be available from 5.30pm.
