Warrington Wolves u19 62 Wakefield Trinity u19 6
WILL Dagger ran in his second hat-trick in as many games as Wolves under 19s rounded off their season in style on Saturday.
Dagger scored three of The Wire’s 11 tries at The Halliwell Jones Stadium as they sparkled in the curtain raiser to Wolves’ game against Catalans.
Lewis Turner crossed twice, with further tries coming from Ellis Robson, Joe Edge, Liam Jones, Brad Pinder, Nathan Ainsworth and Conor Taylor.
Edge also had a productive afternoon with the boot, kicking nine goals, while Wakefield’s only try came from Shaun Wooffitt in the second half.
We spoke as a group that we wanted to finish the season in style and we have certainly done that,” head coach Stuart Barrow said.
“To score over sixty points in successive weeks was very impressive but the most pleasing aspect today was our commitment in defence.
“We also had a 100% completion rate for the first half an hour like we did against Leeds.
“We have finished the campaign in fifth place which is an improvement on last year and the challenge for next season now is to better that.
“It was nice to finish the season playing at The Halliwell Jones Stadium and I am sure that the squad will have enjoyed that experience.”
