Atherton Collieries 1 Warrington Town 2

WARRINGTON Town's preparations for the new season continued apace on Saturday with a victory at Atherton Collieries.

Paul Carden's side took the lead after just three minutes when Ruben Jerome tapped home Shaun Beeley's cross.

Colls, who won the North West Counties Premier Division last season to gain promotion to the division below Town, equalised through Mark Truffas, but the best goal of the game was still to come.

It was supplied by Yellows midfielder Sean Williams just five minutes after Colls had levelled as he struck with a superb 30-yard effort.

Carden's men travel to Skelmersdale United for their latest pre-season test tomorrow, Tuesday, kick off 7.45pm
