AMY Nelson is now a world champion in inline skating.
The 13-year-old from Lymm secured the junior women’s Division Four title at the Inline World Championships in France.
She competed in Dijon among 350 participants from 15 countries as a member of the Altrincham Ice Rink based UK Silverblades team.
The sport, which involves boots with wheels instead of blades, is gaining in popularity in countries where they do not have ice rinks but Nelson, like all the girls in her team, is also an ice-skater.
Head coach Donna McCarthy said: “I’m so proud of Amy. She has worked so hard for this and she skated very well. It is a pleasure to coach her.”
The team, aged seven to 19, between them managed to bring home seven world titles.
