CHRIS Hill should be fit for next week’s game against Wakefield Trinity, Wolves head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith says.
The Wire skipper limped out of today’s 24-16 victory over Catalans Dragons in the first half and did not return to the field.
In his post-match press conference, Smith revealed he was confident his captain’s injury was not serious.
“Chris had a tightening in his hamstring so we didn’t risk him,” he said.
“I think he’ll be okay for next week but we didn’t really need him to come back as such so we didn’t risk him in that respect.”
Tom Lineham was expected to take up his usual spot on the left wing but was left out of the side, with Kevin Penny taking his place.
Smith also provided an update on the fitness of his top scorer.
“He’s got a slight strain to his adductor,” he said.
“We were positive about it but it became clear in the last training session yesterday that Tom wasn’t right.”
