LAURENT Frayssinous' sacking at Catalans Dragons today leaves two ex-Wolves players at the helm.

Michael Monaghan and Jerome Guisset, Frayssinous' two assistants, will take over temporary charge along with general manager Alex Chan.

It remains to be seen whether Dragons will make an internal appointment or look to bring in a new man.

With Wolves due to host the French club on June 24, Monaghan and Guisset could possibly still be in the hotseat attempting to plot the downfall of their former club.

Frayssinous had been in charge since 2013, when he replaced Trent Robinson - the current Sydney Roosters head coach.

A sequence of five straight losses has seen Les Catalans slip out of the top eight, with Wolves replacing them after the weekend's results in Newcastle where Catalans were defeated 18-10 by Huddersfield Giants.

Monaghan is in his first coaching position, heading to the south of France after hanging up his boots at the end of seven seasons in primrose and blue.

The former Manly half back or hooker made 192 appearances for Wire, including three highly influential Challenge Cup Final winning displays.

Guisset, the first Frenchman to play for Warrington, had a run of 137 games for The Wire that ended in 2004.
