HARVEY Livett is set to miss the rest of the season, Wolves boss Tony Smith has confirmed.

The 20-year-old suffered a hamstring injury in goal-kicking practice prior to Sunday’s 34-20 Challenge Cup game victory over Widnes Vikings.

In his first year with the Wolves first team, the Warrington-born academy graduate has played 11 times for The Wire this season.

However, Smith confirmed his man-of-the-match display in the 40-18 victory over St Helens is likely to be the last Wolves fans saw of Livett during 2017.

“We’ve had some bad news about Harvey. His hamstring injury is season-ending or very close to it,” he said.

“He felt it go in the warm-up on Sunday, we’ve had it scanned and he needs surgery.

“It’s very unfortunate for Harvey and I feel bad for him. He’s played plenty of games for us and he’s done well.”
