APPLETON’S Peter Wilkinson and Grappenhall’s Richard Barbera are celebrating becoming Cheshire doubles champions for the second time.
The duo, who play at Lymm Tennis Club, contested the Cheshire LTA Senior Championships at Cheshire Oaks and came away with the over 45s men’s doubles title.
Their success means Wilkinson and Barbera have retained their title after they were crowned champions in the same age group in 2016.
They beat the competition’s top seeds in the semi finals before a 6-1, 6-3 victory in the final.
