ADAM Rasool was the stand-out performer at Hook & Jab’s sell-out show on Friday night.

In front of a sizeable crowd at Alford Sports and Social Club, the 19-year-old produced an outstanding performance to defeat Kirkdale’s Liam Hardacre.

In an all-action contest, Rasool took the victory via a split decision from the judges in what was the best of the 17 contests on the bill.

Tom Wheat won on his debut, with the 16-year-old beating James Henry, while Josh Picken made it three wins in a row with a split decision victory over Queensbury’s Tommy Cook.

Elite welterweight Jake Jameson was another Hook & Jab winner against New Era’s Kane Broughton, with Jameson doing enough to earn a unanimous points victory.

John Stringer did not need the help of the judges as he recorded a first-round victory over Nick Sharples, who was forced to retire with a shoulder injury.

Mark Anthony McDonagh, Ryan Dunning and Jack Evans all lost via split decisions, as did heavyweight Danny Hodge in his first fight for seven years.

Plenty of Hook & Jab’s younger fighters were also involved in skills bouts, including Alfie Hill, Harley Portwood, George Pennington, Ryan Mawdsley, Daniel Rice and Harry McAllister.
