PAUL Carden says Warrington Town “can only worry about themselves” after back-to-back wins reignited their bid for a play-off place.

Monday’s 1-0 victory at Stourbridge, which followed Saturday’s victory over Halesowen Town by the same scoreline, means Town now sit 11th in the Evo-Stik Premier Division table.

The gap between Carden’s side and the play-off places has been cut to five points and the Yellows boss has challenged his side to continue their momentum in Saturday’s home game against Coalville Town, kick off 3pm.

Yellows have yet to win three league games in a row this season and Carden says that is a must if their promotion hopes are to continue.

“I’ve spoken a lot about consistency but that really is what we need and it’s what we’ve been missing,” he said.

“We’re in a good place at the moment but we need to make sure we keep doing what has worked for us recently.

“We need to win on Saturday, that’s a given. It sounds like I’m sitting on the fence but we can only worry about ourselves.

“If we take care of our own results and keep going as we are, who knows where we will end up.

“We speak about the play-offs and it’s possible but we are taking it game by game.”

The last two victories have seen Yellows operate with two strikers and a ‘diamond’ formation in midfield.

Previous games have also seen Town play with three central defenders and Carden says he will continue to chop and change his tactics.

“I’m not a manager who has a set formation. I like to be flexible and able to adjust,” he said.

“We’ve played a certain way in the last two games and it worked for us.

“I’ll continue to change it around to best handle whatever opposition we come up against.”
