HARVEY Livett has reflected on a “memorable” fortnight since making his senior debut for The Wire.

After impressing with his pre-season performances, the versatile 20-year-old made his Super League bow from the bench against Catalans on February 11.

He also played the final stages of Saturday’s World Club Series victory over Brisbane and says he is still pinching himself over what has happened.

“It’s taken me a year to make my debut but it has been memorable so far,” he said.

“Making my debut at Catalans is one I’ll always remember, especially as all my family went over as well.

“To get picked for the game against Brisbane as well, I never thought I’d even play against an Australian team but to get the win as well was amazing, even if I didn’t play that long.

“I’ve watched the NRL on TV since I was a kid and have grown up watching guys like Sam Thaiday and Darius Boyd play. I can’t tell you how surreal it was to play against them!”

Livett, who is comfortable at loose forward, centre and in the halves, comes from rugby-playing family as dad Peter had a lengthy career in the game.

Having come through the ranks at Woolston Rovers and representing the BARLA national team, he turned professional with Workington Town and played alongside Wolves boss Tony Smith in the inaugural Super League season.

“Dad is constantly ringing me now asking for tickets!” Livett said.

“He’s been there and done it so he knows what it’s all about and he’s been a big help.”
