Kirkby Lonsdale 48 Warrington 0
A YOUNG and inexperienced Warrington side returned from league leaders Kirkby Lonsdale with nothing to show for their spirited endeavours.
The Cumbrians controlled the game throughout, with their well-organised defence quickly snuffing out any rare Warrington threat while exploiting every Warrington mistake to take and build on a 19-0 interval lead.
Pack men Josh Riley, Sean Callander and Danny Fleming, along with skipper Tom Wood, strived to keep at bay a Kirkby side that achieved a late rush of points as the visitors tired and committed errors.
Undaunted coach Andy Roberts said: “We can now turn our attention to more winnable games against local opponents.”
Warrington will next host RFU North One West bottom side Eccles on Saturday, January 28.
