WOOLSTON Rovers are holding a registration day for the 2017 season.

Players old, new and current are urged to head down to Monks Sports Club on Saturday, January 7, to sign up for the new campaign.

Head coach John Fieldhouse will be on hand to provide information about training for open age sides.

Registration for junior teams from the Cubs section to the under 12s will start at 10am, with all players from the under 13s to under 15s asked to register at 11.30am.

Both open age sides and the under 18s will open their registration at 1pm, with the club’s AGM to follow at 3pm.

The charity State of Mind will also be present to explain the work they do, with former players Danny Sculthorpe, Phil Veivers, Ian Knott and Will Stringer coming down to talk about their involvement with the charity.

Players can also be measured up for their new club kit and leisurewear by O’Neills Sportswear, while any junior players are asked to bring any devices they used to access the Internet with them so the team from O2 can speak to them about how to stay safe online.

“This day is a very important part of our calendar; we are so blessed to have so many players wanting to play for the Green & Gold,” Rovers’ public relations officer Dave Whalley said.

“With the exciting new agreements we have in place with O’Neill’s, O2 with the NSPCC and State of Mind this promises to be a very exciting day and one that we look forward to enjoying with all our players, coaches, volunteers and parents.”
