MOLLY Wormold celebrated a hat-trick of wins in Warrington Athletic Club’s Cross Country League at Walton Hall Gardens on Saturday.

The Old Hall Junior School pupil took first place in the primary girls’ category, finishing in a time of 5mins 38secs, four seconds ahead of Amelia Smithers from St Monica’s.

Lucie Davies came third overall in the individual girls’ category, leading St Peter’s Catholic Primary School’s girls to the team award, with Broomfields coming home in second place just ahead of St Wilfred’s.

In the minor girls’ race, Cardinal Newman’s Orla Gregory came home in 7mins 34sec to claim the race and the overall title, with Lymm’s Eva Ferris and Olivia Molden in second and third respectively.

Ferris claimed second place overall, with Maisie Bell from Bridgewater taking third.

Bridgewater took the overall team title, with Great Sankey and Lymm in second and third.

Ewan McNabb, of Helsby, took the overall minor boys’ prize after finishing in first place ahead of Lymm’s Reece Connell in second.

Harvey Hebden, of Helsby, shared overall third spot with Bridgewater’s Daniel Hartland.

Rebecca Nixon, 13, led the way home for the junior girls in 11mins 22secs, sealing first place overall for the Kings Leadership Academy pupil over the three races.

Birchwood’s Emily Jackson was second, claiming third overall, with Jess Connolly of Bridgewater finishing third to claim second place overall and help her school to win the team title ahead of Great Sankey.

For the junior boys, Joseph Weston and Jack Whittaker led the way for Great Sankey, ensuring their school took top spot from Boteler and Beamont. Joseph Weston claimed the overall title with his win.

In the intermediate girls’ race, Amy Nuttall of Lymm came home in 10mins 45secs to finish clear of teammate Olivia Doodson and Bridgewater’s Lucy Baxter.

Baxter’s third place ensured first place in the overall standings from fellow pupils Isabelle Trevithick and Lily Ward as Bridgewater took the team title.
