EX-WOLVES star Chris Sandow says he regrets the way his departure from the club was handled.

The Australian scrum-half sensationally walked out on the club on Monday when he failed to report for pre-season training.

The 27-year-old has decided to remain in Australia but freely admits he went about telling Wolves of his decision to leave poorly.

“I’ve grown up to hold things in and I shouldn’t have done that,” he told Fox Sports.

“Warrington is a great club. I’ve done the wrong thing but family does come first.

“It’s been building for a while. I should have been a man about it and told them what was happening.”

Sandow says being around his family was a key part in his decision to walk out on the club he made 32 appearances for since signing in summer 2015.

“Nothing happened, I just got really comfortable back at home in Australia,” he said.

“All my family and friends are here. Being around my family every day, the emotion just got to me about going back to England.”
