MOLLY Rudd bagged a brace when Warrington Ladies’ seconds celebrated a victory at Sale’s thirds in the Cheshire Women’s League on Saturday.

After a goalless first half, she opened the scoring after the break before Tammy Finlayson doubled the visitors’ lead with her first goal for the club.

Rudd added to her tally late on to secure the win, while right-back Celina McElvey was awarded player of the match for a fantastic debut performance.

The first team absorbed plenty of pressure from a young Alderley Edge side, but conceded from three short corners to trail.

They came back strongly with goals from Steph Rawlins and Kate Connolly, but could not conjure an equaliser.

The men’s first team took the lead at Lytham St Annes when a neat Thomas Lloyd pass sent Adam Garrod away to score.

The hosts equalised, and Warrington piled on the pressure in search of a winner only to be denied by excellent goalkeeping.

The seconds fell victim to runaway league leaders Liverpool John Moores University, losing 8-2, while Gavin Brown and Rich Hannibal found the net.
