FOUR Wolves players have signed contract extensions to commit their futures to the club.

Ryan Atkins, Matty Russell, Declan Patton and Benjamin Jullien have all penned new deals to keep them at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Atkins and Russell have both been rewarded for their stellar form in 2016 with two-year contract extensions, tying them to The Wire until November 2019.

Warrington-born half-back Patton, who impressed at the back end of the season, has signed until 2018 and French international Jullien’s deal runs until November 2017.

Atkins, who was named in the Super League Dream Team after scoring 17 tries in 2016, says he was only too happy to accept a contract extension.

“I had a year left on my contract so I jumped at the chance when the club offered me an extension. It means I get to do 10 years at this great club,” he said.

“My girlfriend, little girl and I are all settled here; its home for us now.

“As soon as I signed here the people of Warrington made me feel comfortable and happy.

“I have enjoyed every moment of being at Warrington so there was no hesitation in signing the extension.”

Outside back Russell, who is currently with the Scotland squad preparing for the Ladbrokes Four Nations, says accepting the new deal was “a no-brainer.”

“I have loved it so far and the club is only getting bigger and better every year,” he said.

“I want to be a part of that and continue to share the experience with our fantastic fans and all those who work at the club.

“I’m delighted to have signed a two-year extension at the club. It was a no brainer and I’m very lucky.”

Homegrown star Patton filled in admirably in the absence of Kurt Gidley and Chris Sandow, sometimes both, and says he is “over the moon” to commit his future to the club.

“I struggled at the beginning of the year to get in but I went on to play in some of the big games,” he said.

“You have doubts in your mind with the big players who are here but I got my shot and kept my place so I’m looking forward to the future now.

“It means that bit more being a Warrington lad too. I’m over the moon to have signed another two years at Warrington.”

Jullien made 12 appearances in primrose and blue during his first season in Super League and also played for France against England on Saturday.

Wolves head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith says he is looking forward to seeing how the young second rower develops.

“Benjamin was unlucky to come up with injury just after midway through the year,” he said.

“We’ve seen the potential in him as he’s a very athletic and versatile player, able to play in many positions.

“We’ve enjoyed working with him. He’s an exceptional trainer and very enthusiastic young player.

“We are looking forward to watching his continued development as a Super League player.”
