WOLVES first-team coach Richard Agar says Wigan are far from just brute force.

Shaun Wane’s side must beat The Wire tomorrow, Friday, to retain any hopes of taking top spot off Warrington.

Wolves have already beaten their great rivals twice this season, but Agar says Wigan have adapted their systematic style of play to suit the creative talent within their side.

“I feel there has been a bit of a shift in their style, Wigan are synonymous with their structured plays but if you have a closer look you can’t really say that about their play at the moment,” he said.

“They have guys like Tautai, Gelling and Williams who have a lot of ad-lib footy in them. They will offload the ball and get away from that rigid style of play.

“To a certain degree, you know what’s coming but there is a lot of risk in their play. As a defensive unit, they are right up there with the best in the competition.”

Agar also thinks facing the Warriors will bring the best out of Wolves and also called on the fans to create “a superb atmosphere” inside The Halliwell Jones Stadium, with a large crowd expected.

“From their edges outwards they are very potent, a lot of their guys run for big metres and are very good at creating opportunities for them.

“They have brought some really good performances out of us as well. We raised our game in both games against Wigan in some really tough encounters.

“The atmosphere last week was sensational, it gave the guys a tremendous lift and we need that again this week.

“I’m sure Wigan will travel in numbers and we’ll have a superb atmosphere as we always do for these games.”
