WARRINGTON Athletics Club members braved the scorching heat to compete in the latest Trafford Grand Prix on Tuesday.
On what proved to be the hottest day of the year so far, Liz Wright was in superb form to win her under 17s 800m race in a time of 2 mins 26.91 secs.
Jordan Jones ran 4 mins 29.71 secs in his under 15s 1500m event, which was good enough for fourth place but also a new personal best time.
Sam Rostron came fifth in the under 17 1500m race, while Matthew Wrigglesworth was just outside his personal best in coming 23rd in the men’s 800m.
Meanwhile, under 17 runner Jack Stubbings made his debut over 3000m and clocked an impressive time of 9 mins 8.95 secs to finish 21st.
