WOOLSTON Rovers return to action on Saturday as they travel to Oldham to take on Waterhead Warriors, kick off 2.30pm.

John Fieldhouse’s side, along with National Conference League Division Three leaders and local rivals Crosfields, enjoyed a weekend off last week and saw third-placed Drighlington reduce the gap behind them to three points with a win over Oldham St Annes.

Rovers have suffered with injuries and unavailability over the past few weeks, but Fieldhouse hopes those troubles are now at an end.

“There has been a lot of changes each week which has hampered our ability to get used to playing with each other so it will be good to get a settled side together over the next few weeks to ensure we finish the season strongly,” he said.

“Having no game last weekend gave several of our lads the chance to rest niggling injuries.

“Hopefully they will be refreshed for what will be a tough game against a Waterhead side that have picked up their form over recent weeks.”

Spaces on the coach to the game, which leaves Monk Sports Club at 12.30pm, can be secured by contacting Nikki Whalley on 07889170895.

Rovers follow that game by welcoming Bank Quay Bulls in the semi-finals of the Stuart Middleton Foundation Cup on Wednesday, July 27, with a place in the final against either Rylands Sharks or Crosfields at stake.
