THINGS have changed a lot for Widnes Vikings since their last trip to The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Good Friday.

Back then, Denis Betts’ side were flying at the top of Super League with six wins out of seven.

A 28-10 defeat followed, and since then they have won only twice in an alarming downturn in form.

From looking as if they were going to be this season’s surprise package, they now face a fight to hold onto their Super Eights place.

They currently occupy the final top eight spot, five points clear of nearest challengers Hull KR.

However, the last couple of games have shown signs of them returning to form after an impressive 38-28 win at Castleford and a tight 7-0 defeat to Wigan.

There are still threats Wolves will have to be aware of, especially in the halves where Kevin Brown and Joe Mellor form a potent partnership.

Full back Rhys Hanbury is also a danger, while a familiar face operates in the centres in former Wolves man Chris Bridge.

They do have some injury concerns as Stefan Marsh and Eamonn O’Carroll are still sidelined.

Vikings 19-man squad: Patrick Ah Van, Chris Bridge, Kevin Brown, Jack Buchanan, Hep Cahill, Ted Chapelhow, Jay Chapelhow, Chris Dean, Gil Dudson, Rhys Hanbury, Aaron Heremaia, Chris Houston, Macgraff Leuluai, Manase Manuokafoa, Joe Mellor, Charly Runciman, Corey Thompson, Lloyd White, Matt Whitley.
