WARRINGTON produced an excellent bowling performance as they saw off Tattenhall by 65 runs on Saturday.

Captain Richard Heaney won the toss and elected to bat first as Warrington looked to build a big total but they were restricted by the home bowlers.

Brad McIntosh top scored with 27 as the visiting batsmen struggled to get into their stride as Dave Shewring led the Tattenhall attack with 2-34.

Will Fleetwood, Mal Agar and Adam Green all made it to the twenties, but none of them carried on to make a serious score as they were dismissed for just 149.

Defending a modest total, Warrington needed to be at their best in the field but the bowlers responded magnificently on a pitch that was seemingly made for them.

Rob Batey led the way with 3-12 as the hosts struggled to get to grips with the Warrington seam attack and they never recovered after slumping to 15-3.

McIntosh, Ashley Scholes and James Rudd took two wickets each as Tattenhall were dismissed for just 89 to seal an impressive and much-needed win.

The seconds also had an impressive bowling performance to thank as they picked up an eight-wicket home victory over Bramhall.

The visitors were invited to bat first after Warrington skipper Simon Swain won the toss and they were soon on the back foot thanks to a superb opening spell from Simon Hewitt.

He took 4-34, with Chai Gadepalli chipping in with 3-7 as the hosts completely dominated the visiting batsmen.

Only four Bramhall batsmen made it to double figures as they were bowled out for just 91.

Warrington lost two early wickets as their reply got off to a shaky start, with Swain and Paolo Manfredi both being dismissed by Bramhall bowler Tom Drury.

However, this did little to unsettle the hosts as opener James Lewis top scored with 43 not out as they cruised to their target without any further loss, with wicketkeeper Sam Houghton providing able back-up with an unbeaten 39.

The thirds came unstuck as they fell to a 70-run defeat to local rivals Appleton.

The Warrington made a slow start as Appleton made good progress, but spinners Vijay Doraisamy and Shashwart Rusia put the brakes on, taking three wickets each to restrict them to 171-9.

However, Warrington struggled in reply after a promising start, with Bob Baxter and Harley Barrett hitting 20 each but they were eventually bowled out for 101.

The fourths had to cling on to settle for a home draw with Westminster Park after the visitors had scored 184-5 from their 50 overs, with John Burgess taking 2-44 for the hosts.

Warrington were immediately put under pressure in reply but Arshan Dadrualla and Mans Naseem occupied the crease for extended periods as they took the draw at 90-7.

The firsts are at home this weekend as they face Oxton, while the seconds and thirds travel to face the same club away from home and the fourths are away to Chester County Officers.
