APPLETON Tigers ladies team celebrated the arrival of their new, green T20 kit with a crushing 72-run victory over Bredbury St Marks.

Skipper Nathalie Long elected to bat first at Lyons Lane having won the toss and the batters made her decision look an inspired one as they reached 116-3 from their 20 overs.

Sami Fowler, Chloe Page and Annie Rashid all retired on 25 as Appleton racked up an impressive score and immediately set about defending it.

Jess Lewis dispatched both Bredbury openers cheaply and Olivia Horsfield took three wickets for just two runs as the visitors could only reach 44-8 in reply.

The team are next in T20 action tomorrow, Friday, when they travel to Didsbury.
