WOLVES stand-off Kurt Gidley has been nominated for April’s Super League Player of the Month award.
The 33-year-old Australian has defied a niggling quad injury to star for Wire, scoring three tries and kicking 44 goals since joining from Newcastle Knights in the off-season.
Gidley, who also signed a new 12-month contract with the club last week, could become Wolves’ third straight winner of the award after Chris Sandow scooped the February and March prizes.
Half-backs dominate this month’s nominees, with St Helens’ Theo Fages, Wakefield’s Jacob Miller and Hull FC’s Marc Sneyd joining Gidley in contention for the award, which will be voted for by Super League fans.
Catalan Dragons forward Glenn Stewart completes the nominations.
