WOLVES will have demons to exorcise when they welcome Wigan Warriors to the Halliwell Jones Stadium this evening.

On their last visit to Warrington, Shaun Wane’s men stunned the home crowd and came away with a crushing 28-0 victory, the first time Wire had been kept scoreless at home in the Super League era.

Wigan went on to reach the Grand Final for the third consecutive year but were on the wrong side of a tight 22-20 scoreline against Leeds Rhinos, but early signs seem to show they are intent on capturing their first trophy since winning the double in 2013 this time around.

Wolves won 28-16 at the DW Stadium last month in what was a battle of the top two and that is the billing again this time round, despite a crippling injury list and alarming results for the Warriors including a 62-0 thumping away at Wakefield.

However, they have followed up that humbling with home wins over Castleford and Huddersfield but Wane is still set to be without several star names for his 150th game in charge.

Captain Sean O’Loughlin, Sam Tomkins, Dom Crosby, Liam Farrell, Joel Tomkins and Dom Manfredi will all miss the game, but Wane is boosted by the returning of England international stand-off George Williams from a back injury.

Williams will be looking to recapture the form that won him the 2015 Young Player of the Year award, while the versatile John Bateman has established himself as an early contender for the Man of Steel award.
